Account Settings
Account Settings is where you manage everything related to your ACT3 AI account: your profile, password and security, billing and credits, notification preferences, and organization membership. Access it by clicking your profile icon in the top-right corner of the app and selecting Account Settings, or directly from the sidebar under Settings.
How to Access
- Log in to app.act3ai.com
- Click your profile icon (top-right corner)
- Select Account Settings
Settings are organized into tabs: Profile, Security, Billing, Credits, Organization, and Notifications.
Profile
The Profile tab manages your public and account identity:
- Display name — The name shown to teammates and in collaboration views
- Email address — Your login email and where billing receipts are sent
- Profile picture — Upload an image or use a generated avatar
- Linked accounts — Connect or disconnect Google or Apple sign-in
Changes to your email address require re-verification via a confirmation link.
Security
The Security tab controls access to your account:
- Change password — Requires your current password to confirm
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) — Enable via authenticator app (recommended) or SMS. 2FA adds a required verification step at login
- Active sessions — View all devices currently signed in to your account. You can sign out individual sessions or all sessions at once
- Backup codes — Generate one-time backup codes in case you lose access to your 2FA device
Enabling 2FA is strongly recommended if your account is part of an organization or if you store paid production assets in ACT3 AI.
Billing
The Billing tab provides access to your subscription and payment information:
- Current plan — Shows your active plan, monthly credit allowance, and renewal date
- Upgrade or downgrade — Change your subscription plan; upgrades take effect immediately
- Payment methods — Add, update, or remove credit/debit cards and PayPal
- Billing history — Download invoices and receipts for each billing period
- Promotional codes — Apply discount codes or promotional credits
Enterprise customers can request invoice-based billing and wire transfer payment from this tab.
See Billing for a full plan comparison.
Credits
The Credits tab shows your credit balance and usage:
- Current balance — Monthly credits remaining plus rollover bank balance
- Credit history — Per-project and per-engine usage breakdown for the current and previous billing periods
- Purchase credits — Buy additional credit packs without changing your plan
- Credit limits — Organization Owners can set per-member credit caps from this tab
See Credits for detailed information on credit costs and management.
Organization
The Organization tab appears if you are part of an organization. From here:
- View organization details — Name, plan, member count, and credit pool balance
- Manage members — Invite, remove, and change roles for team members (Admins and Owners only)
- Leave organization — Remove yourself from an organization you are a member of
- Transfer ownership — Transfer the Owner role to another Admin (Owners only)
- Delete organization — Permanently delete the organization and all its projects (Owners only; irreversible)
See Teams for full organization management documentation.
Notifications
The Notifications tab controls when and how ACT3 AI contacts you:
- Credit threshold alerts — Set the percentage or absolute credit balance that triggers an email or in-app notification. You can configure multiple thresholds (for example, alert at 50%, alert again at 10%)
- Render completion — Email and in-app notification when a render job finishes
- Collaboration — In-app notification when a teammate leaves a comment or mentions you
- Organization activity — Email summary of organization member changes and billing events
- Product announcements — Optional emails about new features and updates
Each notification type can be toggled independently for email and in-app delivery.
SSO (Single Sign-On) — Enterprise
Enterprise plan organizations can configure SAML-based single sign-on from Organization Settings → Security → SSO:
- Choose your identity provider (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, or custom SAML)
- Download the ACT3 AI service provider metadata
- Configure the SP metadata in your identity provider
- Enter your identity provider's SSO URL and certificate in ACT3 AI
- Test the connection with a test user login
- Enable SSO for your organization — team members will now log in through your company's identity provider
Once SSO is enabled, team members no longer need separate ACT3 AI passwords. Account provisioning follows your identity provider's user management.
Best Practices
- Enable 2FA to protect your account, especially if you use ACT3 AI for commercial production
- Set billing alerts at 20% and 5% to avoid running out of credits mid-production
- Review active sessions periodically and remove any unrecognized devices
- Keep your email address current — billing receipts and important alerts go there
- Review billing history monthly to track production costs by billing period
Troubleshooting
Cannot save profile changes — Make sure your new email address is in the correct format. If you are changing your email, the confirmation link must be clicked within 24 hours.
2FA codes not working — Ensure your authenticator app clock is synchronized. If locked out, use a backup code.
Billing tab shows wrong plan — Try refreshing the page. If the plan still looks incorrect after a plan change, contact support.
Organization tab not visible — You are not currently part of any organization. Create one or ask your team Owner for an invite.
