Project Settings

Project Settings control the configuration for a single production. They inherit from Organization Settings by default and can override any setting that should differ for this specific project.

Accessing Project Settings

  1. Open the project
  2. Click the gear icon in the project header, or go to Project → Settings in the menu bar
  3. The Project Settings panel opens

Project Owners, Admins, and Editors with appropriate permissions can view project settings. Only Admins and the project Owner can modify them.

How Inheritance Works

Every setting in Project Settings shows one of two states:

  • Inherited — the value comes from Organization Settings. If the organization changes the default, this project updates automatically.
  • Overridden — a specific value has been set for this project. Organization changes do not affect it.

To override an inherited setting, click the Edit (pencil) icon next to it and set your value. To return to inheritance, click Reset to Inherited.

This model means you only configure what makes this project different — everything else follows the organization's defaults automatically.

General Settings

Project Title The name of the production. Appears in exports, render job names, and the organization dashboard.

Description A one-sentence summary. Optional but useful for teams managing many projects.

Format Movie, TV Episode, Short Film, Marketing / Commercial, or Social Clip. Overrides the organization default if set.

Aspect Ratio 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1. Set per project if it differs from the organization default.

Target Duration The intended finished length in minutes. Used for pacing guidance in story structure.

AI and Rendering Settings

Default AI Video Engine Override the organization default to use a specific engine for this project. For example, if the organization default is Wan 2.1 for speed, a high-priority film project might override to Google Veo 3.1 for maximum fidelity.

Default Render Quality Override the quality level for new shots in this project.

Render Style Set the render style for this project. This style applies to all shots unless overridden at the shot level. Choosing a style at the project level locks in a consistent visual look for the entire production.

Audio Settings

Default Voice Engine Override the organization's default voice engine for this project. Useful when one project requires ElevenLabs premium voices while others use the internal engine.

Default Background Audio On or Off for new shots in this project. Override the organization default if this production has specific audio requirements.

Access and Collaboration

Project Visibility

  • Organization — all organization members with Editor access or above can view and edit
  • Restricted — only explicitly listed team members can access this project

Lock Project Put the project in read-only mode. Useful after a production is complete or during final review. Editors cannot make changes; only Admins and the Owner can unlock.

Version History

Project Settings tracks changes over time. Open the History tab to:

  • See every settings change with timestamp and the name of who made it
  • Restore a previous settings state if a change needs to be undone

Storage

View how much storage this project is using. Delete renders, archived outputs, or the entire project to free up space. See Reduce Storage Usage for specific steps.
