Storage

ACT3 AI stores your projects, scripts, generated video clips, uploaded assets, and audio files in the cloud. Storage is measured in gigabytes and the amount available depends on your subscription plan.

What Counts Toward Storage

ItemStored
Generated video clipsYes — each rendered shot
Uploaded assets (images, video, audio)Yes
Actor reference images and voice samplesYes
Set files and 3D assetsYes
Scripts and project dataYes (minimal — text is small)
Draft rendersYes
Exported final videosYes
Deleted project contents (not yet purged)Yes, until purged

Generated video is the largest contributor to storage usage. A single 8-second rendered shot at 1080p is approximately 50–200 MB depending on the engine and quality setting. A feature film with 650 shots at draft quality can easily accumulate 30–100 GB before final renders.

When you approach your storage limit, ACT3 AI sends an alert email. If you exceed the limit, new renders are paused until storage is freed or your plan is upgraded.

Viewing Your Storage Usage

  1. Click your organization name in the top navigation
  2. Go to Settings → Storage (see Organization Settings for the full settings reference)
  3. The Storage panel shows:
    • Total used vs. total available
    • Breakdown by project (which project is using the most space)
    • Breakdown by content type (video, assets, audio)

Project-level storage breakdown is also visible in each project's Project Settings → Storage tab.

Managing Storage

The fastest way to free up space is to delete generated video clips you no longer need — especially draft-quality renders and superseded shot versions. See Reduce Storage Usage for a step-by-step guide to all available storage reduction options.

Upgrading Storage

To increase your storage limit, upgrade your subscription plan:

  1. Go to Organization Settings → Billing
  2. Click Upgrade Plan
  3. Select a plan with the storage capacity you need
  4. Confirm the upgrade

For Enterprise storage requirements beyond the Business plan maximum, contact the ACT3 AI sales team for custom storage arrangements.

Storage and Deleted Content

When you delete a project, scene, or generated clip, the content is moved to a Trash state. It does not free up storage immediately.

To permanently free the storage:

  1. Go to Organization Settings → Storage → Trash
  2. Review the items in Trash
  3. Click Empty Trash to permanently delete all trashed items and reclaim the storage

Warning: Emptying Trash is permanent and cannot be undone.
