Asset Library
The Asset Library is the central storage hub for all media elements used in your projects. It provides organized access to B-roll footage, digital actors, cameras, audio, 3D props, still images, and reusable design assets.
What You Can Store
| Asset Type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Video Clips | AI-generated shots, B-roll, stock footage, imports |
| Digital Actors | Saved actor profiles with appearance and voice |
| Audio | Dialogue tracks, music, sound effects, voice-over |
| Images | Reference photos, concept art, SDXL outputs |
| 3D Models | Props, sets, characters (FBX, OBJ, USD) |
| Sets | Saved 2D/3D set configurations |
| Scripts | Imported and exported screenplay files |
| Style Presets | Custom LUTs and visual style configurations |
| Camera Setups | Saved camera position and movement presets |
Accessing the Asset Library
The Asset Library is accessible from:
- The left sidebar in any project editor
- The main navigation under Media
- The Build Video assembly panel (drag assets directly from here into the timeline)
Adding Assets
Upload new assets:
- Click Add Asset in the Asset Library panel
- Select the file type (video, audio, image, 3D model, script)
- Choose your file from your local drive or cloud storage
- Add tags and a descriptive name
- Save to your personal library or your organization's shared library
Add from renders: Completed renders from the Render Queue are automatically cataloged in the Asset Library with the project and shot name as metadata.
Import B-roll: Go to Asset Library → Import B-Roll to upload supplemental footage. Supported formats: MP4, MOV, ProRes, AVI, WebM.
Organizing Assets
Use tags, folders, and metadata to keep your library organized:
- Tags — Add descriptive keywords (e.g., "sci-fi," "urban," "outdoor," "ambient")
- Folders — Group assets by project, client, production type, or content category
- Search — Find assets by name, tag, type, or date added
- Filters — Filter by asset type, project, resolution, or date range
A consistent naming convention saves significant time on large projects. Consider a format like: ProjectName_SceneName_AssetDescription — for example, LastSignal_Act1_ControlRoom_WideShot.
Cross-Project Reuse
Assets saved to the library are available across all your projects. This means:
- A digital actor created for one film can appear in a sequel without rebuilding the profile
- A set designed for a marketing campaign can be reused in future videos
- A custom lighting preset saved from one project applies instantly to another
- Recurring characters in a series maintain consistent appearance across episodes
Shared Organization Library
In team accounts, the Asset Library can be shared across your organization:
- All members can access shared assets
- Admins control which assets are shared vs private
- Shared actors ensure consistent casting across a production team
- Credit-intensive renders saved to the shared library can be reused without regenerating
Version Control for Assets
Assets support version tracking:
- Updated versions of an asset are saved alongside the original
- Revert to any previous version without losing current work
- Multiple versions of the same script, set, or render are accessible from a single asset entry
Community Marketplace
The ACT3 AI community marketplace lets you browse and purchase 3D sets, look-packs, and Blender-compatible assets created by other filmmakers. Access it from the Asset Library under Browse Marketplace.
Available marketplace assets include:
- Environment packs (urban, historical, sci-fi, natural landscapes)
- Character templates and digital actor presets
- Style preset packs and LUT collections
- Blender-compatible 3D props and set pieces
Selling Your Assets
You can publish your own assets to the marketplace from the Asset Library:
- Select an asset and click Publish to Marketplace
- Set a price (or mark it free)
- Add a description, preview images, and category tags
- Submit for review — assets must meet quality guidelines before appearing in the marketplace
- Once approved, your asset is available to the ACT3 AI community
ACT3 AI takes a platform fee on paid asset sales. Revenue from your sales is tracked in the marketplace dashboard.
Best Practices
- Add descriptive tags to every asset at upload time — searching later is much easier
- Store credit-intensive renders in the library for reuse rather than regenerating
- Organize into project-specific folders for large productions
- Delete unused draft renders and temporary files to manage cloud storage
- Share frequently used assets (brand sets, recurring actors) to the organization library
Troubleshooting
Asset not appearing in search — Check that tags were added correctly. Re-index the library from the Settings panel if assets are missing.
Cannot access shared assets — Verify that you are part of the correct organization and that sharing permissions are set by an admin.
Storage limit reached — Review and delete unused draft renders or upgrade your storage plan.
Asset upload failing — Check file format compatibility and verify the file is not corrupted.
