Production

Production management in filmmaking is keeping every piece of the machine moving in the right direction at the same time — schedules, budgets, crew coordination, and delivery. In ACT3 AI, production management means organizing your project, managing the render queue, tracking costs, and keeping your team working without stepping on each other.

Your work in ACT3 AI

The platform handles the logistics of AI rendering the way a line producer handles crew scheduling. Your job is to make sure the right things get rendered at the right quality level, costs stay in line with your credits balance, and the team has the right access to the right parts of the project.

What you'll do here

Tasks are listed most common first.

Organize your project hierarchy

A well-structured project is easier to navigate and render in batches. Set up your ActSceneShot hierarchy clearly from the start, and use tags to group related shots for bulk operations.

How to organize a project

Manage the render queue

Submit shots and scenes to the render queue, check progress, and prioritize what gets rendered first. The queue shows estimated credit cost before you commit.

How to manage the render queue

Monitor credit usage

Watch your credit balance in real time. Every generation shows its cost before you run it. Set up budget alerts so you're not surprised at the end of the month.

How to monitor and manage credits

Invite collaborators and set permissions

Add team members to the project. Assign each person the right role — Read, Modify, Run AI, Use Credits, Billing, or Owner — so everyone has access to exactly what they need.

How to invite team members

Tag scenes and shots for batch rendering

Use tags — "exterior scenes," "shots for review," "final approved" — to group shots so you can render all of them at once without selecting each manually.

Lock approved elements

Once a scene or shot is approved, lock it so it can't be accidentally changed during the rest of production. Locks are visible to all team members.

How to lock approved elements

Export deliverables

Export finished scenes or the full film in the format needed — ProRes for DCP submission, MP4 for streaming, platform-specific formats for social. Exports are available from the render queue when shots are complete.
